FAQ

Answers to common questions about club participation.

Who can join Northview Beta Club?

9th-12th grade students who have an unweighted numeric GPA of 84 or higher. They must be in proper behavioral and academic standing.

How do I log my service hours?

Sponsored hours will be logged automatically by the officer in charge of the event. Unsponsored, summer and probation hours can be logged by printing and turning in the log found in our Linktree.

How many hours are required?

Members must complete 8 sponsored and 10 unsponsored hours each semester. Returning members must complete 10 summer unsponsored hours.

What is the difference between sponsored and unsponsored hours?

Sponsored hours must come from the volunteer events or drives that officers send via email or GroupMe. Sponsored hours will be recorded on Northview Beta's google sheet. Unsponsored hours can include volunteer events that you find yourself.

What are some examples of unsponsored hours?

Volunteering at the library, church, or a club all can count as unsponsored hours. If you also receive volunteer hours for another club or receive money, then the volunteering cannot count towards unsponsored hours for Beta.

When are Beta Meetings?

You can find our meeting dates on the Meetings page of our website. We will also send out reminder emails before meetings, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled. If you can't make a meeting, you may be excused. To be excused, you must send an email by 11:59 PM the day before the meeting. If you miss more than two meetings in a semester, you will be placed on probation.
